Welcome to my home

Welcome to the website of comedian and notorious ponce Asher Treleaven. Asher Treleaven is a stand up comic, writer and actor working in Australia and the UK. Physically gifted, erudite and slightly unhinged this post-modern ponce is a regular at comedy festivals all over the world. Over the last few years Asher has become one of the most critically acclaimed comedians in Australia with his blend of physical comedy, social satire and stand up. Asher is currently touring three shows, Comic Strip, Secret Door and Troubadour you can find all the dates and locations on the gigs page.

In March at the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Asher will premier his latest stand up comedy show, Troubadour. Troubadour is an autobiographical show structured around Edward De Bono’s ‘Six thinking Hats Method’. Troubadour, tracks Asher’s life from being born to Pink Floyds, ‘Welcome to the Machine’ to now all the while asking the pivotal question, “Is my life interesting enough to talk about for an hour?”

We follow Asher from an itinerant hippy upbringing in the outback to the New Age patchouli soaked enclave that is Byron Bay. From being kicked out of Drama class at age 14 to the National Institute of Circus Arts and his time as a failed promotional biscuit company mascot. Troubadour is a reflection on the choices we make in our life, but ultimately it’s a life affirming show about making the most of your life and the choices you’ve made, even if those choices led you to work as a failed promotional biscuit company mascot.

Troubadour will be playing the Gilded Balloon, Sportsman’s Room this year at the Edinburgh Fringe from 4.30pm daily and all ticket info is available on the GIGS page.
